FLOWER BLOSSOM TILE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP
Sunday 2 March 2025 9.45 am – 1.00 pm
£60 including refreshments, all materials, use of equipment on the day, glazing, firing of piece, tutoring & certificate of completion.
This half-day group workshop with our guest figurative sculptor, Christine Pike, is suitable for all skill levels.
Choose between a rose, peony, or chrysanthemum blossom. Christine will show you how to shape each individual petal to create a beautiful and delicate blossom head on a tile base that can be hung vertically or displayed horizontally as a sculpture.
The tiles will be made from stoneware clay - so you can display them indoors or outdoors.
The repetitive motion of creating each petal, while holding the shape of the flower in your mind, will help you get into a ‘flow’ state - this is where a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energised focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.
When your sculpture is finished you will be able to choose a colour for your blossom to be painted, and can decide on a gloss or matt finish. Your piece will be roughly 12 cm x 12 cm square.
Louise (ceramicist from Blended Monkey) will expertly colour and glaze your piece before firing and will let you know when your sculpture is ready for you to collect (please allow at least 14 days). Your pieces can be posted out by arrangement.
This FLOWER BLOSSOM TILE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP will be held in the peaceful setting of our Blended Monkey studios on the Cambs/Norfolk border.
Numbers are limited to ensure you get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition.
This sculpture workshop is suitable for 14+ with under 16s accompanied by an adult.
About a week before your workshop date, we'll e-mail you again with more details about parking etc.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day - tailored to meet all dietary requirements.
All students will be provided with a certificate of completion.
This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁
