GREEN WOODWORKING INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATION AT THE DISS WOODTURNERS CLUB - September 2024

I was asked to return to the Diss Woodturners Club - this time to give a green woodworking demonstration to the members. It was also rather lovely to be invited to partake in the BBQ they were having beforehand.

I demonstrated how to use the axe block safely, and shave horse with draw knife and then, the star of the show, the pole lathe.

The light started to wane as the evening progressed - but where there's a will there's a way - and members of the group used a variety of torches to shine some light on the situation.

Some of the members came up and had a go at pole lathe turning (a very different beast to the electric lathe but quite relaxing once you get into the swing of things).

It was a great evening with a friendly club, and I'm really pleased the members enjoyed the demo and "have a go" sessions.
