OFF-CENTERED WOODTURNING DEMONSTRATION AT THE WAVENEY & DISTRICT WOODTURNERS CLUB - March 2025

We enjoyed a friendly greeting at the Waveney & District Woodturners on Thursday.

I demonstrated how to turn an off-centered candlestick.

Turning off centre is not for the faint hearted, as you're turning into air a lot of the time. But if you keep your nerve and follow the top of the piece you'll see the ghost of the empty space areas as the piece is turning at a very high speed - and that makes it a lot easier.

I always give the option of providing my project notes to all my demonstration groups. It's great to share ideas and processes so that others can benefit from them.

After the coffee break, I was asked to critique some of the members' work - such a talented group!

I teach 1-2-1 and pairs powered woodturning and also green woodworking (this I also offer for groups of up to 6 people) and spoon carving experiences (groups of up to 8). Drop us a line if you'd like to book your own private session.
